Espai del Peix: Gastronomic Workshop and Classroom
L'Espai del Peix, located in the port of Palamós, aims to contribute to the knowledge of seafood products, the sustainability of fishing, and the promotion of fish cuisine and gastronomy, while highlighting and raising awareness especially of those lesser-known species that, despite being undervalued, have a high culinary and gastronomic value.
This cultural facility aims to promote the cuisine and consumption of fresh local fish as a fundamental element of the Mediterranean diet, as well as to encourage knowledge of the fishing world in order to revalue the profession of fisherman. To this end, it offers a specific programme of cultural activities focused on research and discovery, the dissemination of knowledge, the promotion of seafood products from the Palamós fish market, the divulgation of its cuisine, and the encouragement of its consumption: guided tours, live show-cookings and tastings, cooking workshops, specialised training, product presentations, thematic conferences, etc.
